Reaching the Salento region
The furthest tip of Puglia, outstretched between two seas, is not as far as you may think, if you set your mind to getting there. Traversed for many centuries by pilgrims, travellers and merchants setting sail or returning from the East, today it may be reached with ease and is well connected with the architectural and scenic beauties of the rest of the Puglia region.
The Salento may be reached by car and airplane, but visitors may also cross the region using the Ferrovie Sud Est railways from Lecce and, in summer, the "Salento in bus" bus circuit.
